Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin, Uttarakhand

The scheme aims to provide pucca houses with basic amenities to eligible rural households in Uttarakhand, ensuring dignified living conditions for economically and socially disadvantaged families.

💰Under this scheme, selected eligible beneficiaries receive financial assistance of ₹130,000/- for house construction. Beneficiaries are also provided ₹12,000/- for toilet construction under convergence with MGNREGA/Swajal, along with 95 man-days of labour employment from MGNREGA. After the house is completed, the State Government provides an additional ₹6,000/- for purchasing kitchen utensils as per the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s announcement.

The scheme aims to provide financial assistance to eligible urban families for constructing a pucca house on their own land or for improving their existing kutcha or weak houses.

💰Under the scheme, a grant of ₹2 lakh is provided to approved beneficiaries in installments, based on the progress of housing construction. Of this amount, ₹50,000/- is provided by the State Government and ₹1,50,000/- by the Government of India. | - As per Hon’ble Chief Minister’s Announcement No. 458/2022, beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) are provided an additional incentive of ₹5,000/- for home decoration upon completion of the house.

Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana was launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, in November 2008. Under the scheme, dedicated outlets known as Janaushadhi Kendras are opened to make quality generic medicines available to all at affordable prices.

💰The scheme is operated by government agencies as well as by private entrepreneurs. | - Normal Incentive: The incentive provided to the Kendra owners has been enhanced from the existing ₹ 2,50,000/- to up to ₹ 5,00,000/- to be given @ 15% of monthly purchases made, subject to a ceiling of ₹ 15,000/- per month. | - Special Incentive: A one-time incentive of ₹ 2,00,000/- (in addition to normal incentives) is to be provided for furniture & fixtures and computers & printers to the PMBJP Kendras opened in the North-Eastern States, Himalayan areas, Island territories, and backward areas mentioned as an aspirational district by NITI Aayog or opened by women entrepreneurs, Divyang, SCs& STs. | - The prices of Janaushadhi medicines are 50%–90% less than those of branded medicines in the open market. | - Medicines are procured only from World Health Organization-Good Manufacturing Practices (WHO-GMP)-certified suppliers to ensure the quality of the products. | - Each batch of the drug is tested at laboratories accredited by the ‘National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) to ensure the best quality. | - The operating agency will be provided a 20% margin on the MRP (excluding taxes) of each drug. | Janaushadhi Suvidha Sanitary Napkin | As an important step in ensuring the health security for Indian women, Janaushadhi Suvidha Oxo-biodegradable Sanitary Napkins were launched on 27.08.2019 to be made available at Re.1/- per pad only. The scheme "PM-DAKSH", launched by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment (MoSJ&E), aims to empower socially, educationally, and economically marginalized groups like SCs, OBCs, EWS, DNTs, Safai Mitras, and Waste Pickers by enhancing their skills through high-quality training.

💰Key benefits: | - Training free of cost for the trainees, 100% grants by Government. | - Stipend will be given to trainees during the period of training. | - Trained candidates will be provided certification after successful completion of training and assessment. | - Trained candidates will be provided placement after assessment and certification. | Category of Skilling Programmes: | - Up-skilling/Re-skilling under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL): | - Target Group: Up-skilling / Re-skilling under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) will only be applicable to SafaiMitras including waster pickers who constitute the bottom of the pyramid. - Curriculum: In respect of Safai Mitras including waste pickers, the curriculum will include the programmes on safe & healthy sanitation practices, occupational practices as per relevant and approved Qualification Packs (QPs). Certification would be aligned with the standard process. - Period of Training: The duration of the training programmes will be of approximately 35 hours keeping in mind the occupational hours of the trainees. - Training Cost: The training cost will be limited to extent of Common Cost Norms (CCN) issued by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) as applicable from time to time. - Other Expenses: As the trainees are already employed, they will be paid @₹500/- per person to Safai Mitras including Waste Pickers in the form of stipend, for duration of training of Up-skilling and Re-skilling under RPL, towards compensation of their wage loss, during the period of training. | - Short-Term Courses (focus on wage/self-employment): | - Target Group: Most disempowered groups belonging to SC/OBC/EWS/DNT and Sanitation Workers including Waste Pickers and their dependents having aspirations to be employed in sectors having good demand in job market with suitable wage. - Curriculum: The Curriculum of the training programmes will be as per National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF)/National Occupational Standard (NOS), issued by Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India in various job roles with focus on wage and self-employment opportunities such as self-employed tailors training, furniture making, food processing, carpet weaving, beautician workers, leather work, latex harvesting, tyre fitting along with financial and digital literacy, etc. Training to be delivered through accredited and affiliated training centres. - Period of Training: The duration of the training programmes will be less than 1200 hours, as stipulated in National Occupational Standards (NOS) and Qualification Packs (QPs). - Training Cost: The training cost will be as per Common Cost Norms for NSQF job roles or as stipulated by concerned board as applicable and as amended from time to time. - Other Expenses: | - For non-residential training programmes, the trainees will be paid stipend @ ₹1,500/- per month for SC candidates, ₹1,000/- per month to OBCs/EWSs/DNTs and ₹1,500/- per month to Sanitation Workers including waste pickers and their dependents. 1. For residential training programmes, wherever necessary, the trainees will be provided boarding and lodging and expenses compensated within CCN, for complete duration of the training programmes. No stipend will be separately payable except in case of Safai Mitras, Waste Pickers & their dependents who will be paid ₹500/- per month. | - Entrepreneurial Development Programmes (EDP): | - Implementing Agency: Ministry will approach National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) or any other organisation viz Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) under Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for conducting EDP training.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY)

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana was launched in 2016 with the aim to support farmers by providing an affordable comprehensive risk cover for crops.

💰Affordable Premiums: The maximum premium payable by the farmer will be 2% for the Kharif food and oilseed crops. For rabi food and oilseeds crop, it is 1.5% and for yearly commercial or horticultural crops it will be 5%. The remaining premium is subsidized by the government. | - For the farmers in North-Eastern States, Jammu, Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh, the government also pays the entire premium. | - Comprehensive Coverage: The scheme covers natural disasters (droughts, floods), pests, and diseases. Post-harvest losses due to local risks like hailstorms and landslides are also included.- Timely Compensation: PMFBY aims to process claims within two months of the harvest to ensure that farmers get the compensation quickly, preventing them from falling into debt traps.- Technology-Driven Implementation: PMFBY integrates advanced technologies like satellite imaging, drones, and mobile apps for precise estimation of crop loss, ensuring accurate claim settlements. | RISKS COVERED | - Yield Losses (Standing Crops): The Government provides this insurance coverage for yield losses that fall under the non-preventable risks, such as Natural Fire and Lightning: Storm, Hailstorm, Tornado etc.: Flood, Inundation and Landslide; Pests/ Diseases, etc.; Drought etc.- Prevented Sowing: Cases may arise where most of the farmers (insured )of notified areas may want to plant or sow. In such cases, they have to bear the expenditure for that cause and are restricted from planting or sowing insured crops because of unfavourable weather conditions. These farmers will then become eligible for the indemnity claims of up to a maximum of 25% of the sum insured.- Post-harvest Losses: The Government provides for post-harvest losses on an individual farm basis. The Government offers coverage of up to 14 days (maximum) from harvesting for crops that are stored in “cut and spread” condition. It means that the Government covers farmers who have put the crops to become sun-baked in the field after harvesting that have been destroyed due to cyclone or cyclonic rains occurred across the country.- Localised Calamities: The Government provides for localised calamities on an individual farm basis. Risks such as loss or damage arising from identified localised hazards, such as hailstorms, landslides, and inundation impacting separated farmlands in the notified area comes under this coverage.

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan (PMGDISHA) is a Digital Literacy Scheme by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), to make six crore persons in rural areas, across States/UTs, are digitally literate, reaching around 40% of rural households.

💰The Scheme is aimed at empowering the citizens in rural areas by training them to operate computers or digital access devices (like tablets, smartphones, etc.), send and receive e-mails, browse the Internet, access government services, search for information, and undertake digital payment, etc. and hence enable them to use the Information Technology and related applications, especially Digital Payments to actively participate in the process of nation building. | - On average a target of 200-300 beneficiaries per Gram Panchayat is envisaged. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

A National Mission for Financial Inclusion (NMFI), namely, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) was launched by the Prime Minister across the country on 28th August, 2014. It envisages to provide universal banking services for every unbanked adult in the country.

💰Basic Savings Bank Deposit Account (BSBDA) | Any Indian citizen eligible to open a regular bank account can open a BSBDA. Such an account does not require any minimum balance maintenance. The account holders can use both bank branches, ATMs and Banking Correspondents (BCs) for depositing and withdrawing cash. However, one cannot withdraw cash more than four times a month. | Small Account/Chota Khata | Under Jan Dhan Yojana, people can open small bank accounts without presenting legal documents. These accounts would be valid normally for a period of twelve months. Thereafter, such accounts would be allowed to a continue for a further period of twelve more months, if the account-holder provides a document showing that he/she has applied for any of the Officially Valid Document, within 12 months of opening the small account. | RuPay Debit Card with inbuilt accident insurance | Under PMJDY, a free Rupay debit card, with inbuilt accident insurance cover of Rs.2 lakhs (Rs 1 lakh for accounts opened before 28.08.2018), is issued to all beneficiaries. | Overdraft Facility | Under PMJDY, beneficiaries can avail OD facility upto Rs. 10,000/-. | Business Correspondents (BCs)/Bank Mitras*** | BCs/Bank Mitras are retail agents engaged by banks for providing banking services at locations other than a bank branch/ATM. The scheme aims to provide old-age social security through a minimum assured monthly pension of ₹ 3,000/- to Small and Marginal Farmers after attaining the age of 60 years.

💰Monthly Pension Benefit: | - The subscriber will receive a minimum assured pension of ₹ 3,000/- per month after attaining the age of 60 years. | - Family Pension Benefit: | - In case of death of the subscriber, the spouse will receive 50% of the pension amount as family pension. | - Family pension is applicable only to the spouse. | - Government Matching Contribution: | - The Government of India will contribute an amount equal to the subscriber’s monthly contribution to the pension fund. | - Disablement Benefit: | - If the subscriber becomes permanently disabled before the age of 60 years, the spouse can continue the scheme by paying contributions or exit by receiving the subscriber’s contribution with interest. | - Exit Benefits: | - If the subscriber exits within 10 years, only the subscriber’s contribution will be refunded with savings bank interest. | - If the subscriber exits after 10 years but before 60 years, the subscriber’s contribution will be refunded with accumulated interest or savings bank interest, whichever is higher. | - If the subscriber dies before 60 years, the spouse can continue the scheme or exit with a refund of the subscriber’s contribution with interest. | - After the death of both subscriber and spouse, the corpus will be credited back to the pension fund.

The scheme aims to promote clean and affordable irrigation by replacing diesel pump sets with solar-powered pump sets, reducing farmers’ irrigation costs, enhancing energy security, and increasing farmers’ income through sustainable and efficient use of solar energy.

💰Under the scheme, farmers receive an 80% subsidy on the cost of a solar pump set from the Government of India and the State Government, while the remaining 20% of the cost is borne by the farmer. | The scheme allows individual farmers to convert their diesel pump sets into solar pump sets of up to 7.5 HP capacity, which helps reduce expenditure on diesel and lowers production costs, thereby increasing farmers’ income.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Surakshaevam Utthaan Mahabhiyan Yojana (PM-KUSUM Scheme) was launched in March 2019 by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), to subsidize farmers to install solar irrigation pumps for cultivation. Each farmer will receive a 60% subsidy.

Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana: Per Drop More Crop

The scheme “Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana: Per Drop More Crop” was launched by the Dept. of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Govt. of India on 1st July 2015. The scheme mainly focuses on water use efficiency at farm level through Micro Irrigation.

💰Financial assistance to farmers for the installation of irrigation components under Micro Irrigation (all assets/ water sources for this must be mandatorily linked with a Micro Irrigation system to achieve water use efficiency). | - Installation of drip or sprinkler irrigation in the farmers’ field for selected crops. | - Installation of the irrigation system can be done either by the farmers themselves or by the selection of any approved Micro Irrigation companies. | - The pattern of assistance payable to the beneficiary under the micro irrigation scheme will be 55% for small and marginal farmers and 45% for other farmers which will be met by both the Central Government and State Government in the ratio of 60:40 for all states except the North Eastern and Himalayan states. In the case of these states, the ratio of sharing is 90:10. For the Union Territories, the funding pattern is 100% granted by the Central Government. | - Direct Benefit Transfer into the accounts of farmers. | - Farmers can also avail benefits like water harvesting structures both at individual and community levels, water lifting devices for conveyance efficiency, and digging of a farm pond, under Other Interventions of Per Drop More Crop.
