Internship Programme for Women Students / Scholars / Social Activists / Teachers

The Ministry of Women and Child Development launched the Internship Programme aims to harness the talent of the trainees, giving them an opportunity to work towards bringing more efficiency in the implementation of the schemes.

💰Each intern would be provided a lump sum stipend of ₹20,000/- per month and reimbursement of travel cost (by Deluxe/AC Bus/3 Tier AC Train) for joining of the programme in the Ministry and return back home at the end of the programme. | - Interns proceeding on tour as part of the programme would be reimbursed travel cost (by Deluxe/AC Bus/3 Tier AC Train) and DA as per extant Government of India rates. | - The interns would also be awarded a certificate on successful completion of the programme on terms such as submission/presentation of papers/reports of the work done. | - Interns would be provided a hostel facility on a sharing basis for the duration of their programme in Delhi. The hostel facility will only include basic amenities like triple sharing accommodation in each room with an attached bathroom, bed (mattress is not included), table, chair and cupboard. | - The hostel facility would be available from 2 days before the start of programme up to 2 days after the end of the Programme (e.g., for an internship batch starting 1st June, the hostel facility will be available from the forenoon of 30th May 2023 up to the afternoon of 2nd August 2023 for a two- month programme). | - Interns would be provided necessary logistic support such as seating arrangement, internet facility and stationery items in the Ministry. | - The interns would be provided an Internship Coordinator who would be responsible for coordinating entire internship exercise, including networking and communication with other stakeholders. | Note: Mess charges are not included as part of the accommodation and are to be borne by the intern availing the hostel facility

💰One-Time Cash Assistance for Institutional Delivery (Mother's Package) | - To meet the cost of delivery, pregnancy-related care, and post-delivery care. | - In Low Performing States (LPS): ₹1,400/- for rural areas and ₹1,000/- for urban areas. | - In High Performing States (HPS): ₹700/- for rural areas and ₹600/- for urban areas. | - For North-Eastern States (except Assam) and rural areas of tribal districts of other states: ₹700/- (Mother's package). | _For pregnant women delivering in a public health institution, the entire cash entitlement should be disbursed to her in one installment at the health institution._ | _For women accessing an accredited private institution, at least three-fourths of the cash assistance should be paid to the beneficiary in one installment at the time of delivery._ | _The money must be paid only to the beneficiary and not to any other person or relative._ | _Disbursement should preferably be done at the institution._ | _All payments made before or after seven days of delivery are considered illegitimate and subject to audit objection._ | Cash Assistance for Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) Package | - For referral transport to the nearest health facility (generally ₹250/- may be earmarked for this, though states can determine the scale). | - For facilitating institutional delivery (not less than ₹200/- per delivery). | - Transactional cost for boarding and lodging during her stay with the pregnant woman in the health center for delivery (balance out of the total package amount). | - ₹600/- for rural areas, this includes ₹300/- for the antenatal component and ₹300/- for facilitating institutional delivery. | - ₹400/- for urban areas, this includes ₹200/- for the antenatal component and ₹200/- for facilitating institutional delivery. | _The first payment, covering transactional costs, should be made at the health center upon arrival with the expectant mother._ | _The second payment, the cash incentive, should be paid after the ASHA has completed her postnatal visit and the child has been immunized for Bacillus Calmette–Guérin (BCG), and this payment should be made within 7 days of delivery._ | _All payments to ASHA are made by the Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM)._ | _If the ASHA fails to organize transport for the pregnant woman, the transport assistance money is paid directly to the pregnant woman at the institution upon arrival and registration for delivery._ | _An ASHA receives cash benefits only if she accompanies the pregnant woman to the health center. Her work is assessed based on the number of pregnant women she has motivated and escorted to deliver in a health institution._ | Cash Assistance for Home Delivery | - ₹500/- per delivery for the Below Poverty Line pregnant women, regardless of age and number of children. | - For the beneficiary's care during delivery or to cover incidental expenses. | _The disbursement is done at the time of delivery or approximately 7 days before delivery by an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife, Accredited Social Health Activist, or any other link worker. All payments made before or after seven days of delivery are considered illegitimate._ | Assistance for Caesarean Section or Management of Obstetric Complications | - Up to ₹1,500/- per delivery (case), utilized by the health institution to hire services of specialists from the private sector or to pay an honorarium or transport cost to bring specialists from other government setups if they are not available in the government health institution. | _This assistance is provided to the government health institution, not directly to the beneficiary. Junior Research Fellowship In Engineering & Technology

The scheme "Junior Research Fellowship in Engineering & Technology" by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Department of Higher Education is meant for candidates who wish to pursue research leading to a Ph.D. degree in engineering and technology.

💰NATURE OF ASSISTANCE | - The tenure of the fellowship is initially for a period of two years as a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). | - After the expiry of two years the work of the fellow will be evaluated by experts and if found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years with enhanced emoluments as a Senior Research Fellowship (SRF). | - In case the work of the fellow for the first two years is not found satisfactory, one more year will be given to him/her for improvement, but during this period he/she will be designated as a Junior Research Fellow. In such cases work will again be evaluated after three years, and if the improvement is found, the fellow will get two more years under the SRF. | - Thus, the total period of fellowship (JRF and SRF) is five years, which is non-extendable. The awardee can avail research fellowship for the full tenure of the fellowship or up to the date of award of the Ph.D. degree, whichever is earlier. | The assistance available under the scheme is: | Fellowship @ Rs. 14,000/- p.m. for the initial two years, @ Rs.15,000/- for the remaining period | Contingency @ Rs.12,000/- p.a. for the initial two years, @Rs.25,000/- p.a. for the remaining period | Departmental Assistance @ Rs. 3,000/- p.a. per student to the host institute for providing, infrastructure to the researcher | Escorts/Reader Assistance @Rs.2,000/- p.m. in cases of physically handicapped and blind candidates | HRA As per the rule of the concerned institution | House Rent Allowance: | Suitable single-seated hostel accommodation in the institutions may be provided to the Fellow, failing which HRA as per rules of the university/institution | will be paid, subject to the submission of the HRA certificate through the registrar/principal. Research Fellows provided with accommodation in hostels recognized/maintained by the institutions may be reimbursed the hostel fee, excluding mess, electricity and water charges, etc. A certificate to this effect is to be furnished through the registrar/principal (Annexure I). If the Fellow makes his/her own arrangements of accommodation, he/she may be entitled to draw HRA as per the categorization of cities by the Government of India. The Fellow will submit a certificate to UGC for claiming HRA through the concerned university/institution/college. | Medical: | No separate/fixed medical assistance is provided. However, the fellow may avail the medical facilities available in the institution/university. | Leave: | Research Fellows are entitled to a maximum period of 30 days leave in a year in addition to public holidays. They are not entitled to any other leave, for example, summer, winter, pooja vacations, etc. Women candidates are eligible for maternity leave of 135 days at full rates of fellowship once during the tenure of their award. | Note-1: The Research Fellow, in special cases, may be allowed by the Commission, to leave without fellowship for up to one academic year during the entire tenure of the award for accepting teaching assignments on a temporary basis, provided the assignment is in the same city/town. | Note-2: In other cases, leave without fellowship will be restricted to a period not exceeding three months during the tenure of the award on the recommendations of the supervisor and the head of the institution. | Note-3: The period of leave without fellowship will be counted towards the total tenure of the fellowship. | Note-4: Fellows are advised to apply for leave through their university/institution/college well in advance for the approval of the Commission.

Jute Resource-Cum-Production Centre (JRCPC) will be set up in the local clusters and localities across the country in collaboration with bonafide Agencies who have adequate experience in training and skilling programs and have required training cum-production infrastructure.
