The scheme aims to provide free hostel facilities to children (both boys and girls) aged 6 to 18 years who are enrolled in nearby schools for formal education. In addition, children are provided with a monthly stipend of ₹200/-.

Applications are invited through wide publicity by the Hostel Warden, Block Education Officer, or District Project Officer before the academic session. The application form can be downloaded from Samagra Shiksha website or obtained from the hostel warden.

No, all hostel facilities are provided free of cost, including accommodation, food, and other essential services.
