What is the main objective of this scheme?
The aim is to support economically weaker Scheduled Caste families in meeting the marriage expenses of their daughters.
How much financial assistance is provided under this scheme?
₹50,000 is provided for each daughter’s marriage, for a maximum of two daughters.
Who is eligible to apply?
Families belonging to the Scheduled Caste category with a total monthly income of ₹4,000/- or less, or holding a BPL card, can apply.
How many daughters in a family can get the benefit?
A maximum of two daughters per family are eligible for the grant.
What is the age requirement for the bride?
The bride must be at least 18 years old and less than 45 years old at the time of marriage.
What is the age requirement for the groom?
The groom must be at least 21 years old and less than 45 years old at the time of marriage.
Can the benefit be availed for a second marriage?
No. The scheme applies only to the first marriage of the daughter.
Where can I apply for the scheme?
Applicant can apply online through the Department’s pension portal https://ssp.uk.gov.in/, Umang mobile app, Apni Sarkar portal https://eservices.uk.gov.in, or by visiting a Common Service Centre (CSC).
What is the time frame for applying?
Applications must be submitted between 1st March and 28th February of the same year in which the marriage takes place.
How will the grant be paid?
The grant amount will be transferred directly to the beneficiary’s bank account.
