Deserted Women Pension Scheme

The scheme aims to provide a monthly pension to Abandoned married women, mentally ill husband/wife & destitute unmarried women in the state. Under this scheme, beneficiaries receive a pension of ₹1,200/- per month, & in case of mental disability (spouse), the amount is ₹1,400/- per month.

Who can apply

An abandoned/deserted married woman, or; A mentally ill deserted husband or wife, or; A destitute unmarried woman aged above 40 years.; Marriage duration must be more than 1 year.; Husband must have been missing/absent for more than 1 year or must have deserted her.; A self-declaration regarding desertion must be certified by the Gram Pradhan/Ward Member.; Must submit a disability certificate from a government hospital certifying the inability to earn a livelihood due to mental disability.; Must be above 40 years of age.; Pension will be discontinued if the woman gets married.
