Children of construction workers registered with the Building & Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board.
Which courses are covered under this scheme?
All recognized Pre-Matric and Post-Matric courses pursued in recognized institutions, except courses with a duration of 6 months or less.
Can a student who fails a year still receive the scholarship?
No, the scholarship will be paused if a student fails a year and will resume only after the student passes the specific year of the course.
Are online courses eligible for the scholarship?
No, online courses, home study courses, and distance learning courses are not eligible.
How many children per family can receive scholarships?
Only two children of the same parents/guardians are eligible to receive scholarships.
What happens if a student changes their stream of study?
Candidates studying in the same stage of education in different subjects or continuing professional studies in a different stream after completing one professional stream are not eligible.
What is the attendance requirement?
The student must maintain at least 50% annual attendance in their class.
Can children of construction workers with dues to the Board apply?
No, the registered construction workers must have no dues payable to the Board for their children to be eligible.
What is the duration of the scholarship?
The scholarship is tenable for the prescribed duration of the course.
Are vocational courses covered under the scholarship?
Yes, vocational courses pursued in recognized institutions are covered, provided they are not part-time or distance learning.
Can a student receive multiple scholarships for different courses?
No, students are allowed to take up only one professional stream and cannot receive multiple scholarships for different courses.
Is there a deadline for application submission?
Yes, applications must be submitted within 6 months of the next academic year.
What is the role of the Labour Inspector and Labour Officer?
The Labour Inspector processes and verifies the application, while the Labour Officer reviews and approves it.
