The aims to award laptops to meritorious students of Board Examination. Through this scheme, laptops are provided to eligible students who meet the published merit criteria.

What is the objective of the IT Award for Meritorious Students?

The objective of the IT Award for Meritorious Students is to recognise and reward students of Meghalaya who have topped their respective Annual School Board Examinations by awarding them laptops, thereby encouraging academic excellence and promoting the use of Information Technology among meritorious students.

Who is eligible to apply?

Students who: | - Studied in Meghalaya or are residents of Meghalaya who studied outside the State; | - Topped their respective Annual School Board Examinations in a particular year; | - Passed examinations conducted by MBOSE, CISCE or CBSE; | - Appeared in Class X or Class XII Board Examinations (subject to applicable criteria).

Are subject toppers eligible?

Yes. | For MBOSE: | - Class X subject toppers in Mathematics, Science and Computer Application are eligible. | - Class XII subject toppers in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computer Application and Biology are eligible. | - However, a student eligible under multiple categories will receive only one award in a particular year.

What benefit is provided under the scheme?

Eligible students are awarded a Laptop. A student who is both a top ranker and a subject topper will receive one award, but with a higher configuration laptop.

How can a student apply?

Students must apply online through the Meghalaya e-District portal (megedistrict.gov.in) by selecting the service “Registration for IT Awards for Meritorious Students” and completing the online form.

Is there any offline application process?

The application process is conducted online through the e-District portal. A printed acknowledgement slip must be produced at the time of award collection.

What documents are required during application?

Students are required to upload a passport-size photograph during online registration and produce valid Photo ID Proof at the time of award collection. Original mark sheets may be required for verification.

What is the size requirement for photograph upload?

The passport-size photograph should be between 20 KB and 300 KB.

How will students be informed about the award distribution?

Students will receive notification through SMS or Email once the event and award distribution dates are finalised.

Can a student receive more than one award in the same year?

No. A student who qualifies both as a rank holder and a subject topper will be eligible for only one award in a particular year.
