The Directorate of Educational Research & Training Meghalaya, Shillong is implementing a scheme in providing a one-time award for meritorious tribal students of Meghalaya who passed the current HSSLC Examination (Science) every year.

Who can apply

The applicant should be a tribal student belonging to the Khasi, Jaintia, Garo, Koch, or Hajong tribes of Meghalaya.; The applicant should be a permanent resident of Meghalaya.; The applicant should have passed the current HSSLC Examination from the Science stream.; The applicant should have secured 60% or above aggregate marks in the examination.

Who are eligible to apply for the Incentive Award ?

Only those tribal students reading in Meghalaya who topped in the HSSLC Examination in the Science Stream who belong to the Khasi, Jaintia, Garo, Koch, Hajong tribes.

Who will be selected for the Incentive Award?

The award for meritorious tribal students of Meghalaya will be based on the merit list, as furnished by the Controller of Examination, MBOSE Tura, of the students in the HSSLC Examination (Science Stream) from the schools and colleges of the different districts of the state and selection will be done district-wise

How many students will receive the Incentive Award?

The number of awardees will be selected district - wise i.e., 20 (twenty) awardees from East Khasi Hills district and 6 (six) awardees each from the remaining 11 (eleven) districts.

How many years can the selected students avail the Incentive Award?

One year only since this is a one-time award.

Selected Students can apply for this Incentive via online at | https://scholarships.gov.in/.

Do I need to open a Bank Account?

Selected Students must open a Bank Account.

What is the amount of the Incentive?

Selected Students will receive an amount of Rs. 10,000/- as a one time award.
