The Karnataka Social Welfare Department provides an incentive to promote intra-caste marriages within different sub-castes of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).

Incentive Amount: | - ₹2,00,000/- if an SC/ST boy or girl marries a person from a different SC/ST sub-caste. | - ₹1,50,000/- if the couple has availed of the simple marriage grant. | Subsidy Disbursement: | The incentive is provided in two installments: | - 50% in cash. | - 50% as a fixed deposit with a minimum term of 3 years.

Who can apply

The couple should belong to different sub caste of SC.; The bride and groom should be residing in Karnataka.; The family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹2,00,000/-.; The age of the bride should be between 18 to 42 years at the time of marriage.; The age of the groom should be between 21 to 45 years at the time of marriage.
