What are the structural requirements that my script must meet to be eligible for submission?
Your script must be written in traditional tiatr format with minimum 6 to 7 podd'de and at least 4 Cantos. Additionally, comedy should be inter-related to the main plot, though comedy may be absent in religious tiatr.
Is there any restriction on the age of participants who can apply for this competition?
There is no age limit for participants. Writers of any age can participate in the Tiatr script writing competition.
What language and script format should I use when writing my submission?
The script should be written in Konkani language using Roman script only.
Can I submit a script that has been previously published or performed somewhere else?
No, the script of the Tiatr should not have been published or performed earlier. Only original, unpublished, and unperformed scripts are eligible.
How many physical copies of my manuscript do I need to submit along with my application?
You should submit three typed copies of the manuscript along with the duly filled application form.
What monetary rewards can I expect if my script wins one of the top positions?
The first prize is ₹15,000/-, second prize is ₹10,000/-, and third prize is ₹5,000/-. All winners also receive certificates.
Are there any restrictions on the themes or content I can include in my script?
Yes, there should not be any adverse remarks against any governments, individuals, institutions, or anything against caste, creed, and religion in the scripts or lyrics that may hurt anyone's sentiments.
Who will evaluate my submission and how will the winners be determined?
A panel of judges will judge the scripts and their decision will be final regarding the winners.
What additional benefits can I receive if my script wins and I agree to its publication?
If you provide a No Objection Certificate to print your script in book form, Tiatr Academy of Goa will print it at their cost and pay you a one-time honorarium of ₹5,000/- in addition to the prize money, plus give you 100 copies of the book.
Do I have the freedom to choose any theme for my script or are there specific requirements?
The themes will be as specified by Tiatr Academy of Goa, so you must follow the themes announced for each competition.
What happens if my script is found to contain objectionable content after submission?
If your script contains adverse remarks against governments, individuals, institutions, caste, creed, or religion, Tiatr Academy of Goa reserves the right to disqualify your script.
