Applications and nominations must be submitted online only through the National Awards Portal of the Ministry of Home Affairs at https://www.awards.gov.in. Applications submitted through any other mode are not considered.

Are posthumous nominations allowed?

Yes. In posthumous cases, if the person proposed to be honoured has passed away within 1 year, the award may be given posthumously.
