What you get

- A token stipend of ₹10,000/- per month would be paid to an intern, subject to satisfactory performance, duly certified by his supervisor/mentor. | - Certificates will be issued by the Ministry to the interns upon the completion of the internship and submission of the Report duly countersigned and accepted by the competent authority. | NOTE: | - The intern shall be paid after the completion of the internship on submission of a report duly accepted by this ministry.

Who can apply for the internship?

Indian students with at least 60% marks in eligible technical, legal, or economic courses can apply.

What is the duration of the internship?

The internship duration is 2 months, extendable up to 3 months.

Can final year students apply?

No, students in their final semester or passing out in summer 2025 are not eligible.

How many internship slots are available?

There are a total of 29 internship slots across various domains.

Is the internship paid?

Yes, a token stipend of ₹10,000 per month is provided upon successful completion.

Is the internship virtual or physical?

The mode (virtual or physical) will be decided by the assigned mentor/supervisor.

How can students apply for the internship?

Does the application require institutional approval?

Yes, the application must be sponsored/forwarded by the student's institution.

How are interns selected?

Selection is done by MeitY divisions, possibly through interviews (in-person/Skype).

Does this internship guarantee a job in MeitY?

No, the internship does not assure future employment.

What happens if an intern performs unsatisfactorily?

MeitY reserves the right to terminate the internship at any time for unsatisfactory performance.

Is preference given to students from certain academic fields?

Candidates having exposure in the area of intended internship with a good academic background and having higher qualifications, based on need shall be given preference.
