Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) will award "Abdul Kalam Technology Innovation National Fellowship" to outstanding engineers to recognize, encourage and support translational research by individuals to achieve excellence in engineering, innovation and technology development.

💰The fellowship amount is ₹25,000/- per month in addition to regular income. | - A Research grant of ₹15.00 lakh per annum. | - An Overhead of ₹1.00 lakh per annum to the host institute. | Note: The fellowship is taxable as per the IT rule of the Government of India.

ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship

The “ASEAN-India Research Training Fellowship (AI-RTF)” is a fellowship scheme initiated by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India under ASEAN-India Science & Technology Development Fund to support young talented researchers/scientists of ASEAN member countries.

💰Full financial assistance will be provided to the selected Fellows which includes the following:- | a) Round trip international airfare by lowest economy class and by the shortest route from the international airport in the home country of the applicant to the international airport nearest to the host institution in India; visa fees, overseas medical insurance, etc. | b) A consolidated Fellowship amount of Indian Rupees (INR) 60,000/- per month. | c) One-time grant of INR 40,000/- as research contingency expenses, airport transfers, domestic travel for attending scientific /events, and field trips within India. | d) Institutional overhead charges @ INR 2,500/- per month. | e) The allowance as in (a), (b) & (c) will be released to the host institution in India for disbursement to the Fellow. The host Institution will arrange appropriate accommodation for the Fellow on a payment basis. | - The selected Fellow is advised to take an appropriate policy for health insurance coverage for the period of stay in India. The cost of obtaining an overseas insurance policy is covered and reimbursable under AISTDF. | - Individual Fellow, or his/ her government/institution, is required to bear the following costs: | a) All expenses in the home country incidental to travel abroad, including expenditure incurred to obtain passport and visa and for medical examinations and vaccinations as may be required as well as other miscellaneous expenses such as internal travel to/ from the international airport of departure in the home country. | b) Salary and other related allowances in the home country, if applicable, during the Fellowship period. | - Neither the AISTDF nor the host institution in India will assume any responsibility whatsoever for the following expenditure of the Fellows during the tenure of the Fellowship: | a) Compensation in the event of death, disability, or loss of personal belongings or compensation for damage caused by climatic or other conditions. | b) Travel and other costs incurred by the dependents, who might accompany the Fellows.

BIRAC’s Innovation fellows shall apply as an individual and are required to work full time at EYC. BIRAC’s Innovation Fellows are expected to initiate biotech startups. Hence, only proposals with potential to commercialize innovative products and technologies will be considered for support.

Overseas Visiting Doctoral Fellowship

The objective of the scheme is to build national capacity in frontier areas of Science and Engineering, which are of interest to India by providing research training to PhD students admitted in the Indian institutions in overseas universities / institutions of repute.

💰The selected fellows will be paid a monthly fellowship amount equivalent to US $ 2000, one-time Contingency/Preparatory allowances of ₹60,000/- to cover visa fees, airport transfer charges, medical insurance, etc. | - The selected fellows will also be provided the shortest route economy class airfare from their place of work in India to the place of the host institute and back. Students should make their own arrangements for accommodation etc. | - One visit, each by the Indian supervisor to the Overseas Institution where the student is working and overseas faculty to the host Indian Institution of the student is also admissible under the Scheme. The following provisions are made for them to undertake research visits: | - Travel: Both the Indian supervisor and overseas scientist will be provided the shortest route round-trip economy class airfare not exceeding ₹1.5 lakhs per round trip from their place of work to the city of the host institute and back. This programme is initiated by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) to assist researchers to initiate their research career in a new institution with a flexible budget and progressive initiatives for ease of doing research.

The objective of the Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar (RVP) is to recognise the notable and inspiring contribution made by the scientists, technologists and innovators individually or in teams in various fields of science, technology and technology- led innovation.

💰The awardees shall be presented a Sanad (certificate) signed by the President of India & a medallion. A commemorative brochure, containing the citation and photograph of the awardees shall also be released on the day of the ceremony. | - In case of posthumous award, the decoration of the award shall be received by the ‘next of kin’ of such awardee. | - The decoration to such persons who are not able to attend the award ceremony due to personal reasons (including indisposition, preoccupation, etc.) the award shall be deemed to have been conferred on such a person. No other person (including the spouse/next of kind) should be allowed to receive the award on behalf of the absentee awards except in posthumous cases.
