There is no State/University wise ceiling on the number of slots. | - In case the number of applicants exceeds the number of available slots for awards, selection will be made on the basis of marks obtained in the post-graduation exam. | - Slots will be provided to sub-categories subject to the following priority: | - Priority Category Slots:- | a) Divyangjan [5% of 750] = 38 | b) PVTG (List at Annexure-VIII) = 25 | c) Female [30% of 750] = 225 | d) ST Others = 462 | Total = 750 | Note:- | - Eligible students who have got an offer of admission in IITs/AIIMS/IIMs/IISER will be given priority and slots meant for the ST-Others category(Sr. No.4 above) will be reduced proportionately. | - The students applying as Divyangjan should produce the Disability Certificate, certifying a minimum of 40% disability, issued by the competent authority designated by the respective State/UT. | - In case an adequate number of applications is not received for the above subcategories, then the unfilled slots will be allotted to eligible ST research applicants not covered under any of the three categories mentioned above, on the basis of inter-se merit based on post-graduation examination. | D. Procedure for determining slot distribution for sub-category: | Category 1 : Divyangjan : | - 38 slots will be reserved for Divyangjan Research scholars, and their selection will be on the basis of merit. | - In case of more than 38 applications are received in this category, the top 38 applicants, in the order of merit, will be selected, and the remaining applications will be treated under the normal ST category. | - However, if the number of applications received is less than 38, the remaining vacant slots will be filled by the next priority category i.e PVTG. | Category 2 : PVTG: | - 25 slots will be reserved for PVTG applicants, and their selection will be on the basis of merit. | - In case, more than 25 applications are received in this category, the top 25 applicants, in the order of merit, will be selected against the allotted slots, and the remaining applications will be treated under the normal ST category. | - However, if the number of applications received is less than 25, the remaining vacant slots will be filled by the next priority category i.e Female. | Category 3 : Female: | - Out of a total of 750, 225 slots will be reserved for female applicants [including Divyangjan and PVTG]. | - In case more than 225 applications [including Divyangjan and PVTG] from female candidates are received in this category, the top 225 applicants, in the order of merit, will be selected against the available slots. | The remaining applications will be treated under ST open category. | E. Other Important points:- | - In case the number of applications of female candidates is less than 225, the remaining vacant slots will be adjusted with ST's other categories. | - The guidelines provide that the student is eligible for a scholarship for regular and full-time M. Phil/Ph.D in the University/Academic Institute. | - However, for pursuing Ph.D. courses in AIIMS/IIMs/IITs/IISERs, where the pre-requisite may be that the students should have financial security in hand before he/she can take admission, preference will be given to those students who have secured offers of admission from AIIMS/IITs/IIMs/IISERs. | Therefore, the student should mention, in the application form, that he/she has got an offer of admission and should also upload the offer letter issued. | F. Number of Scholarships: | - All eligible students who have taken admitted on merit to the identified premier institutes, and are verified by the Institute and Ministry as per the norms of the scheme are eligible to receive scholarships. | - There is no Institute- wise/ State wise/stream-wise ceiling for a number of slots. | - However, students admitted to Management quota in a private Institute will not be entitled to scholarships.

"National Fellowship for OBC Students" was launched by the University Grants Commission (UGC) during the financial year 2014-15 to increase the opportunities for the students of Other Backward Classes (OBCs) to pursue higher education leading to acquiring degrees such as M.Phil. and Ph.D.

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme

The objective of the scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students of economically weaker sections to arrest their drop out at class VIII and encourage them to continue their education at secondary stage.

The Indian Embassy/Mission in the respective country will however examine the reasonableness of medical premium opted/claimed by the student.8.Cost of Air PassageAir passage grant on actual basis from India to the nearest place to the educational institution and back to India, by economy class and shortest route at best available price shall be provided.9.Local TravelSecond class railway fare from the port of disembarkation to the place of study and back; in case of far flung places not connected by rail, bus fare from the place of residence to the nearest railway station, actual charge of crossing by ferry, air fare to the nearest rail-cum-air Station will be permissible.Note: Extension of stay beyond prescribed duration for levels of courses as mentioned above, will be without financial assistance of any kind except the air passage to return to India, if the candidate decides to come back to India on completion of the course.

National Renewable Energy Fellowship Scheme of the Human Resource Development Programme in New and Renewable Energy

Through this scheme, fellowships will be provided for pursuing higher studies/ advanced research in renewable energy. The fellowship scheme is directly aligned with the overall requirement of renewable energy, research thrust areas identified by MNRE.

💰M.Tech. Fellowship: A monthly stipend of ₹12,400/- is provided for a duration of 20 to 24 months, depending on specific institute norms. 1. M.Sc. (Renewable Energy) Fellowship: Students receive a monthly stipend of ₹4,000/- for a maximum duration of 24 months. 1. Junior Research Fellow (JRF): Provides a monthly fellowship of ₹31,000/- plus House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per Central Government norms, along with an annual contingency grant of ₹20,000/- for a period of 2 years. 1. Senior Research Fellow (SRF): Provides a monthly fellowship of ₹35,000/- plus HRA and Contingency as per Central Government norms for a duration of 3 years. 1. Post-Doctoral Fellow/Research Associate (PDF/RA): Offers a tiered monthly fellowship of ₹47,000/- (Level I), ₹49,000/- (Level II), and ₹54,000/- (Level III) plus HRA and Contingency as per Central Government norms for a period of 3 years. 1. Total Intake Capacity: The scheme supports an annual intake of 75 new fellows, aiming for a total of 375 fellowships over the five-year programme period (2021-2026). 1. Integrated PhD Path: JRF awardees can transition into SRF roles for a combined doctoral research tenure not exceeding 5 years (2 years JRF + 3 years SRF). 1. Direct PhD Path: The scheme allows a direct route for candidates to enter at the SRF level for a PhD program not exceeding 3 years. 1. Post-Doctoral Research: Specialised support for 3-year advanced research projects at the Research Associate/PDF level. 1. Flexible Allocation: The number of fellowships in each category (M.Tech, M.Sc, JRF, SRF, RA) is interchangeable based on the quality of research proposals and industry demand. 1. Monthly Disbursement: All fellowships are disbursed on a monthly basis directly into the beneficiary's bank account via DBT mode upon receipt of attendance/continuation reports from host institutions.

The “National Solar Science Fellowship Programme” of the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy was launched in February 2011. The aim of the National Solar Science Fellowship Programme is to provide a platform to top-quality scientists and engineers in the area of solar energy research.

💰Each selected Fellow will receive a total annual grant of up to ₹32.00 lakhs comprising (i) emolument of up to ₹12.00 lakhs (ii) contingencies of up to ₹5.00 lakhs and (iii) research grant of up to ₹15.00 lakhs. This will be pro-rated for the duration of the tenure of the particular Fellow. | - This grant will be released to the host institution for being granted to the Fellow. | - The Fellow may also raise additional resources from other sources such as the host Institution, grant providers, grant-in-aid Institutions, etc. for the purpose of carrying out his/her research. | Note 01: On selection, the Fellow will be attached to one of the selected schools/institutions in consultation with the Fellow as well as the host institution. | Note 02: Selected Fellows shall commit to work at the host institution for the full tenure of the fellowship and shall submit a bond in this regard to the host institution. | Note 03: The Fellow must submit quarterly progress reports and a final technical report to the Fellowship Management Committee. The Fellowship Management Committee may from time to time, seek updates from the Fellow and provide inputs and guidance to the project of the Fellows so that the project remains relevant to the Government of India agenda and can be successfully completed on time. | Note 04: An annual conference of the Fellows will be held, where the Fellows will be expected to present their findings to the Fellowship Management Committee and other invitees and share knowledge and learning and discuss areas for further collaboration and practical application of their research. | Note 05: There would be a visible improvement in the quality of solar technology through the application of innovative solutions/technologies in the field arising out of the research under the programme. | Note 06: The resources in terms of manpower and infrastructural facilities available at various schools/ institutions of the country would be enhanced /strengthened.
