D. D. Kosambi Research Fellowship Scheme

The scheme "Goa State Best Library and Best Librarian Award" has been designed by the Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa to encourage Goan Scholars to undertake research in the field of Goan history, culture, arts, social studies etc. Three fellowships shall be awarded.

💰Eligible scholars for the junior category shall be awarded a fellowship up to ₹ 15,000/- per month for a maximum period of 2 years, on a case-to-case basis. | - Eligible scholars for senior & post-doctoral categories shall be awarded a fellowship of ₹ 20,000/- per month for a maximum period of 2 years, on a case-to-case basis. | - However, the applicant who undertakes to complete the research work on a full-time basis may be awarded the scholarship upto ₹ 30,000/- per month. In such cases, the research period shall be as decided by the selection committee. | Number of Fellowships | A maximum of one fellowship in each category shall be awarded every year. | NOTE: The amount of fellowship shall be assessed on the recommendation of the selection committee after the submission of his/her project.

💰• Awareness Creation: Awareness about Tiatr, its song, and music will be created through academic activities such as talks, symposia, seminars, and workshops. | • Resource Person Honorarium: Resource persons will be paid an honorarium, as fixed by the Tiatr Academy of Goa, for every session, with the amount dependent upon the distance from their residence to the venue. | • Expenditure Coverage: The Tiatr Academy of Goa will cover the expenditure incurred on Resource Persons, refreshments, and food (lunch or dinner) served to participants. Additionally, any other miscellaneous expenditure made in organizing the activity by an institution or individual by way of collaboration will be taken care of by the Tiatr Academy of Goa. | • Provision of Materials: The Tiatr Academy of Goa will provide essential materials, including a backdrop, certificates for the participants, and stationery. | • Documentation Coverage: The Tiatr Academy of Goa will document the Symposia, Seminar, or Workshop, and the expenditure incurred on this documentation will be borne by the Tiatr Academy of Goa. | Conditions | _Prior approval will be required from the Tiatr Academy of Goa before finalizing the resource persons, if the activity is organized in collaboration with others._ | _The cost of refreshments or food to be served must be verified and approved by the Tiatr Academy of Goa before finalization._ | _The scheme will be implemented strictly on a ‘First Come First Serve’ basis._ | _Applications will be considered, and benefits disbursed as per the availability of funds._

Scheme To Provide Assistance To Students Seeking Education Outside Goa In Any Field Of Art And Culture

The scheme aims to encourage young talents in Goa to achieve the highest possible standard in fields of Art and Culture by providing financial support for training outside the State. Assistance is provided to eligible students for basic or advanced education in art.

💰Financial Assistance | - Financial assistance is given to acquire basic or advanced education in any field of Art and Culture (like music, dance, theatre, fine arts, folk arts, photography, etc.) at State, National, and International levels. | - Maximum assistance up to ₹1,20,000/- is provided for acquiring education outside Goa or the actual cost of the education, whichever is less. | - Maximum assistance up to ₹3,00,000/- is provided for acquiring education outside India or the actual cost of the education, whichever is less. | Disbursement | - The committee may scrutinize and decide upon the quantum of assistance, from case to case, depending upon the nature of training, reputation of the Institution/Guru, and eligibility of the applicant. | - The assistance shall be disbursed by the Director of Art and Culture only after obtaining Government approval for the names selected by the Sub-Committee. | Conditions | - The student shall undergo training on full time or part time basis. | - The student must maintain 75 % attendance for the total course period or for one year period of the course (whichever is less). This shall not be applicable where there are regular examinations recognized by the University or Board or Government. | - The student can apply for assistance for a maximum of five years (initially for three years and upon review if showing progress, extended for two years). | - A review report of the student shall be taken every six months. | - The student shall be bound to present performance as and when asked by the Directorate of Art and Culture. | - The scholarship amount shall be recovered if the student fails to maintain 75% attendance (where applicable). | - The amount shall be recovered from the student if the course is not completed.

Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research

The Scheme has been introduced to invigorate and revitalize the various institutions under the Ministry of Culture and other identified cultural institutions in the country, by encouraging Fellows/academicians to affiliate themselves with these institutions to work on projects of mutual interest.

💰Honorarium: | - A Tagore National Fellow who is from a University, College, Research Institute, or Government setup in India would be entitled to the same pay, including grade pay, etc., which he/she would have drawn had he/she continued in his/her parent organization. Essential or mandatory contributions of the employer to Provident Fund etc. would be paid by the parent organizations as would have been paid by them had he/she continued in his/her parent organization. | - A Fellow from abroad or from a set-up other than University, College, Research Institute or Government service, or who has retired from active service and/or is on pension, would be entitled to a fixed honorarium of ₹80,000/- per month. | - No payment of honorarium would normally be made to a Fellow receiving full funding from other sources up to the level of the honorarium, but such Fellow will, however, receive a Contingency Grant, other allowances, and facilities, as decided by the NSC. | Contingency Grant: | - In case of foreign and Indian research fellows residing or serving abroad and having been selected as Tagore Fellows under Non-MoC institutions, to and fro economy class airfare from their country of residence will be provided/reimbursed by the Ministry once during the course of the Fellowship. | - Similarly, all fellows under Non-MoC institutions who take up the Fellowship under the Scheme will be reimbursed, on an ‘actual’ basis, contingent expenses for making academic trips, engaging research assistants, etc. up to a maximum ceiling of ₹2.50 lakhs per annum, during the tenure of Fellowship subject to verification of requisite bills by the Nodal Institutions. | Note: For Fellows selected under MoC Institutions, the expenditure in this regard will be borne by the concerned MoC Institution from the grant-in-aid received by them from their administrative Division of the Ministry. | Accommodation: | - A Fellow who is not a bona-fide resident of the place of the Participating Institution to which he has proposed to be affiliated and who intends to take up rented accommodation in the city of the desired Institution will be required to indicate this fact at the time of applying for Fellowship. | - The selected Fellow will be entitled to receive a House Rent Allowance of up to 30% of the honorarium. However, with respect to Fellows from Universities, colleges, Research institutes, or Government setups HRA will be paid by the Parent Organization as per entitlement. | - The MoC Institutions will bear the expenditure in this regard from the grant-in-aid received by them from their administrative Division of the Ministry. | - In respect of Non-MoC Institutions, the Ministry of Culture will reimburse the House Rent Allowance directly to Fellows on submission of rent receipts (in original) to the Participating Institutions who will verify and forward the same to the Ministry for reimbursement. | Settling Allowance: | - A Fellow from outstation will be given, if required, a lump sum grant of ₹1.00 lakh as settling allowance for packing/transportation, etc., of his personal belongings from the old station to the new station of his stay during the tenure of Fellowship, if he moves station or otherwise transports books and academic effects. | - Allowance of an equal amount will also be given at the conclusion of the Fellowship for moving out of station. On a case-to-case basis, economy airfare from his/her place/country of residence will be provided/reimbursed upon joining and at the conclusion of the Fellowship. In this regard, Non-MoC Institutions will bear the expenditure and thereafter seek reimbursement from the Ministry after submission of certified copies of Bills along with justification. | Support to Fellows: | - Infrastructural support will be provided by the Nodal Institution to the Fellows to enable them to conduct their research. This may include the provision of a computer with peripherals and connectivity, working space in the institution’s premises, providing a congenial atmosphere to carry out research, etc. Other facilities, like appropriate seating arrangements, library facilities, etc., will also be made available. | - One important advantage of this scheme will be the access of the Fellows to national institutions for study and avail original and rare research material. In respect of foreign fellows engaged under this scheme, necessary political/security clearances from the concerned Ministries/Departments shall be obtained by the Ministry of Culture. | - Encouragement and financial support may also be given to enable the Fellows to present papers at conferences hosted by the concerned institution or other related organizations and institutions, which will be met out/reimbursed, on an ‘actuals’ basis, with a ceiling of ₹1.00 lakh per annum, provided adequate academic interaction is arranged

Tiatr Research Scholarship Program

The scheme aims to encourage college and university students to undertake research in Tiatr, its song, and music. It provides scholarships and publication opportunities for research work, targeting students pursuing Graduation, Post-Graduation, and PhD studies.

💰Scholarship Amount | The amount of each scholarship will be decided by Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) from time to time. | Publication of Research Work | The research work of the students will be printed by Tiatr Academy of Goa (TAG) in book form after approval by the Recommendation Board. | Copies of Published Work | Each student concerned will receive 100 copies of their printed research work in addition to the scholarship amount. | Number of Scholarships | TAG will offer scholarships in three categories every year: | ◦ PhD: 1 scholarship | ◦ Post-Graduation: 3 scholarships | ◦ Graduation: 6 scholarships | _Scholarships will be for every academic year._ | _A scholarship will be given only once in a particular category; however, the same applicant is free to apply for other categories in subsequent academic years._
